3d noob continued final blog post: 3d not as noob?

I wanted my final piece to be something I could rest on a countertop or table and it would look actually good. I am happy to say that I did that and I'm proud and grateful for what I've gotten out of this project.  One thing I would change in the future- I would see exactly how big I can print my objects and then go bigger. This would make all of the small details standout better and have a higher resolution. I am currently working on learning blenders 3d modeling software so  that I can sculpt "YuYa" an original character that would hold this weapon. In the process of this I've also realized blender is what I will be using for further developing my 2d animations as it is an actually awesome program. I cant believe I was too intimidated to install it until now lol. I really should have documented my work better, especially taking better photos and with my access to the documentation studio.  https://docs.google.com/presentation/d/136c1cbPQ9ptqkWkL4Gvr_4HVjvdJCAVbK...

3D NOOB: Project 2 Post 3

With my Object fully printed, things went without a hitch. Seeing the simplicity and ease of the printing process made me really want to save up for one. This print was quick and was done within an hour. I found that the joinery worked perfectly and I didn't need to make adjustments.  I think my object would benefit with some glazing on the wood and paint on the plastic.

With the object finalized the only things left to do were render it in Rhino and 3d print. I found Rhinos render feature quite intuitive, making the process fun.   For my final object render, I put my object on some simple staging, and used an overhead spotlight as well as a spotlight placed directly in front of the object. I think this helped show the sillhouette of my object.
